Badminton is a very beginner-friendly and easy sport to learn and play. It is a fun game and an excellent way to get some active exercise. It is considered a moderate-intensity activity so it is superb for helping you get in your NHS recommended weekly physical activity minutes (60 minutes for 5-18 years old / 150 minutes for 19-64 years old).

Badminton is mostly a game for single (one player per side) or doubles players (two players per side), although it can be played in larger groups. This is a set perfect for beginners,. The rackets are lightweight (about 96g each), but are strong and evenly balanced for speed, power and accuracy. The net is extremely easy to set up, all you just need is somewhere to dig the net posts into the ground and you are good to start playing.
Badminton is a simple, quite casual sport when playing for recreation. The idea of the game is to hit the shuttlecock over the net towards the other player(s). Unlike tennis, the shuttlecock cannot hit the ground, and it can only be hit once to get it over the net. If the shuttlecock hits the ground, the player that hit it over the net scores a point. The win, you must score 21 points. It is fantastic fun and you don’t need to be the fittest person to join in. It’s excellent for keeping active. And as it comes with its own carry case it is very portable so is perfect for taking to your local park or on holiday with you. When packed away in its bag it doesn’t take up much space, isn’t heavy to carry and because it is so portable, I think that it makes it a very accessible family sport.
We have loved getting outside and playing badminton (when the weather allowed). It is very quick and easy to set up. Perfect for players of all abilities, ages and sizes. And lots of active fun, it is great exercise and is excellent for family bonding time. As it is not as fast as tennis and that bit more sedate, it is much more beginner-friendly and suits all abilities.
The rackets are strong and sturdy and perfect for beginner-level play. The rackets are evenly balanced and strung for beginners, not too fast or too powerful.
As the set is supplied with four rackets, it means the whole family can join in and enjoy the activity, or even a bit of friendly competitive game play, whilst having some fantastic fun. When finished playing, everything packs aways neatly into the carry bag and is easy to store without taking up lots of room.
As for the quality of the set and its components, I think that they are excellent. They look and feel very good quality and seem extremely durable.
I think this is an excellent set. It is compact, portable, quick and easy to set up, and easy to learn and play. The rackets aren’t too heavy, and they feel quite robust and durable, standing up to daily play (as well as being dropped now and again).
The Yonex GR303 Badminton Racket and Net Set is perfect for getting out into the garden or local park and having some outdoor fun now that the weather is improving and will be fantastic for summer. And as well as being great fun, it is also a very good way to get some exercise and keep active.
