Having a good night’s sleep is essential for health and wellbeing, in fact, it’s one of the most valuable gifts we can give ourselves. A good night’s sleep does more than relieve tiredness – it resets our body while everything from mood and concentration to physical recovery and overall wellbeing improves. So once you have got the perfect mattress, supportive pillow and comfortable bedding sorted, you can’t ruin it with sleepwear that isn’t up to the job. Lightweight, soft, breathable pyjamas help regulate temperature, reduce irritation and create a sense of calm that encourages deeper sleep, leaving you feeling better rested in the morning. As I suffer with migraines, one of the causes of mine is getting too hot and sweaty (dehydration), so staying cool at night is absolutely essential or I can wake up in pain, feeling like the day is already a battle before it has even begun. That’s why high‑quality sleepwear matters and I have been trying out the Dagsmejan Stay Cool pyjamas (shorts and t-shirt) – lightweight and breathable cooling pyjamas.
Dagsmejan’s cooling pyjamas are designed with comfort, cooling performance and premium quality in mind. They are 14x more breathable than cotton and made using eucalyptus fibres and other botanic fibres (100% Lyocell).
When the pyjamas arrived, the first thing of note is how they are presented – they come in an outer cardboard box but inside is a sleek black gift box. Inside the box are the pyjamas, individually wrapped in recycled plastic bags, and both are wrapped in black gift paper. The whole package just feels luxury. If you don’t want the premium packaging you can choose a recyclable mailing bag (light packaging) or bulkier items are supplied in a giftable fabric bag. The premium packaging I received are made from sustainable packing materials and are fully recyclable (as is the light packaging).
Once I unpacked the pyjamas, the first thing I noticed was just how incredibly lightweight the items feel. On examining them, they feel extremely soft and silky, there are no tags to cause irritation, they have flat ergonomic seams and slightly front placed side seams with care instructions printed on the inside of each item. They look and feel real quality items.
Come bedtime, it was time to try them out. Firstly, the fit is perfect – the T‑shirt drapes naturally without feeling tight, clingy or restrictive while the shorts offer enough room to move freely without bunching or riding up – which as I move around a lot in my sleep is crucial. The lightweight material feels good against the skin and really comfortable as it glides across the skin. The material has been engineered to be breathable and moisture‑managing, which helps to keep your body at a stable, comfortable temperature throughout the night by maintaining a good airflow and wicking away excess moisture.
Overall, I love the Dagsmejan Stay Cool T-Shirt and Shorts pyjamas set. As someone that has a problem regulating my temperature and gets far too hot I was sceptical about if these pyjamas would work any better than standard pyjamas, but they really do. I am not getting as hot during during the night (and not waking up for a drink of water as much) and as I am not overheating I am not waking up with a headache or migraine.
I love how lightweight and soft the pyjamas feel, but better still, having no tags and flat seams means there is absolutely no irritation. And despite their lightweight feel, they don’t feel like the are going to fall apart after a few washes – they do feel excellent quality and very luxurious. I have worn and washed a few times now and the pyjamas have maintained their shape, smoothness and fit.
So what is the benefit of sleeping in the Dagsmejan Stay Cool pyjamas rather than sleeping naked to try and keep cool? While sleeping without clothing may seem like a great idea to stay cool it can actually have the opposite effect, leading to more temperature fluctuations which can make you more uncomfortable during the night. Bare skin against bedding can trap heat or cause sweat to linger, which can make you feel warmer rather than cooler. Wearing the Dagsmejan Stay Cool pyjamas set creates a breathable barrier behind the skin and the bedding that helps regulate temperature more effectively. They help to wick moisture away from the skin, improve airflow and prevent the discomfort that comes from sweaty sheets or sudden chills. For me as a migraine sufferer and someone who generally get far too hot anyway, this stable temperature regulation is especially important, as overheating during the night can be a direct trigger.
For me, while the Dagsmejan Stay Cool T‑Shirt and Shorts pyjamas set are an expensive set of pyjamas, they do deliver exceptional comfort, a superb cooling performance and premium luxurious quality. They are ideal for warm sleepers, migraine sufferers, and anyone who values softness, breathability and durability in their sleepwear. I think that this set is an outstanding choice, they are comfortable, stylish and keep me cool while sleeping.
If you value a good nights sleep, then you have to try the Dagsmejan pyjamas – I don’t think that you will be disappointed, I’m not.
