Shower Shelves

Storage space in a small bathroom is always a conundrum. Do you add an under the sink cupboard, some small bathroom cabinets on the wall, or even some shelves? In reality, you probably require all those options depending on the size of your bathroom and how many people are using it on a daily basis. I needed some storage shelves for the bath / shower but really didn’t fancy drilling though the tiles to attach some shelving and them making sure that they were sealed so that no water was getting behind the tiles. Looking for alternative ideas I then came across the LEADAHEAD Self-Adhesive Shower Shelves, which as the name suggests are shelves that stick to the tiles. I hummed and hawed for a while before purchasing these as I really wasn’t sure if a self-adhesive shelf would stay on the wall in a steam-filled, wet bathroom. Surely the heat and hot water would stop the sticker staying on the wall. Anyway, I took the plunge and bought a set. So far I have been very impressed and after a couple of months the shelf is still attached to the corner of the wall above the bath.

The LEADAHEAD self-adhesive shower shelves are made of premium aluminium, and being a bathroom / shower shelf is rustproof, non-fading, scratch-resistant and durable. And being self-adhesive it means no tools are required to install it, no drilling through the tiles and into the wall and no DIY skills are needed. Although it does come with a screw kit if you did want to screw onto the wall (and then you will require tools, drilling and some basic DIY skills). The shelves are available in dark grey or black.

In the box:

  • 2 Corner Shelves
  • 4 Removable Hooks
  • Transparent Self-Adhesive Stickers (2 for each shelf)
  • Screw Kit
  • Fixing Instructions
Shower Shelves

Fixing these shelves to the bathroom wall is so simple, if you go for the down the self-adhesive route. The self-adhesive stickers attach the shelf using a nut and screw system – the sticker has 2 built-in screws which you put through the pre-drilled holes in the shelf and then twist on the nut. No tools are required, you can tighten by hand. To put on the wall, make sure the space where you want the shelf is clean and dry before use. Decide where you want the shelf and put the shelf in the corner space (before removing the self-adhesive backing) and draw a marker line on the wall or tile, I used a small spirit level to make sure that the shelf would be level (or you could use the tile lines to guide you). Remove the stickers from the shelf and then stick them to where you have marked on the wall and then screw the shelf back on. Attach your hooks and you are good to go. They will adhere to surfaces such as tile, marble, glass and painted wood but cannot be used on a cement wall, gypsum wall, wallpaper or a painted wall.

With the shelf fixed to the wall using the no drilling installation and self-adhesive stickers, each shelf should be able to safely and securely hold up to 10kg, which should be more than enough for your shampoos and shower gels.

Each shelf has gaps so that water drains away and has a raised border around the shelf to keep things such as razors and other small objects from falling off. 2 hooks attach to each shelf to hang your flannel, shower puff, bath loofahs etc.

Overall, these are excellent shower shelves for the bathroom, kitchen, utility room etc. and the shelf-adhesive adheres very well to smooth, flat surfaces of tiles and glass – if you are using on different wall surfaces a screw kit is supplied.

The shelves measure 21×28.5×3.3cm and have plenty of space for all your shower / bath products and seem secure with quite a few full and heavy different bottles on them.

My shower is on the wall above the bath. Originally I put one shelf next the shower itself but keep knocking it when showing as not having much room to stand. So I decided to remove it and put one in the opposite corner. This shelf has now been on the wall for 2 or 3 months and has stayed where it is, even with daily showers and lots of hot water and steam.

These shower shelves come with a 2 year guarantee and a 30 day money back guarantee.

I have been very impressed with these corner shower shelves. The ease of installation is superb, quick and simple. And the fact that they hold a fair bit of weight and have stayed on the wall even with the heat and moisture in the bathroom is fantastic.

The RRP of £21.99 is a bit steep but they seem to sell for £11.99 on Amazon which I think is about the right price.

A simple and effective way to add some corner shelves into your bathroom and increase you storage space.
