I have been using the So Chill Mini Fridge from Canal Toys, which is suitable for a variety of locations, and this compact noiseless chiller is great for having next to my desk for cold drinks. It would also be great kids having their friends over to save them running in and out of the kitchen, extended gaming sessions so that you don’t need to break your game, and even great for taking with you on a picnic or camping trip now that the weather is improving.

The So Chill Mini Fridge is not a traditional fridge – you can’t put things inside it for them to get cold, so is no good for food items. What it actually is, is a fridge to keep cold things cold – so put in an already cold can of drink and it will keep it at the ambient temperature. It is excellent for keeping cold drinks cold.
This USB-powered mini fridge boasts a sleek design, featuring a removable shelf, removable door pocket and a carry handle. It seamlessly fits into any décor and it comes supplied with a sticker pack so that you can customise it with decorations to suit your style and personality. Available in black or teal, its compact size has a 4 litre capacity and is easy to tuck out of the way or to have sitting on/under your desk. Its 4 litre capacity equates to holding six 330ml cans of pop. It adds a fun touch to your space while enabling you to always have cold drinks at hand.
The size and weight of the mini fridge, it measures approx. 28.5 x 19.2 x 29cm and weighs 1.5kg, also makes it easily portable – it also features a convenient carry handle recessed into the back of it. Overall, the So Chill Mini Fridge is a good noiseless fridge suitable for a bedroom, gaming room, office desk etc. It keeps drinks nice and chilled (up to six 330ml cans) and it makes no noise while working. If you think of it as more of a chiller than a full-on fridge you won’t be disappointed.
While the 4 litre capacity is great for six cans, I would have liked to see it just a little bit taller as it doesn’t accommodate a 500ml bottle of water, although you can obviously put in the smaller 330ml bottles.
As a drinks chiller for bedrooms, playrooms or your office desk, I think that it is great. It works well and silently (just plug it in an hour before use to get it to temperature), and the drinks inside stay nice and cold. Made from plastic, the design and feel of the door and handle isn’t perfect. The handle feels really cheap (although it does the job it is designed to do) and the door doesn’t sit entirely flush – while this isn’t too noticeable, a bit more attention to detail would have improved the aesthetics.
While it does a great job of keeping drinks cold while being easily portable to use in a variety of environments, I would have to rate it as 4/5 stars due to it being not big enough for a standard bottle of water and the fact that the door doesn’t sit flush. That said, it is an inexpensive way to keep your drinks cold when engaged in long gaming sessions with your friends and chilling in the garden soaking up the sun.
