Hand Warmers

Wow, we have entered meteorological winter with a bang, or rather a big freeze; what a cold snap we have been having recently (we have had temperatures of -4°C here and that’s not the coldest part of the UK)! Out come the thick winter warmers; heavy winter coats, winter boots, hats, gloves and scarfs and for me, my trusty hot water bottle and my electric rechargeable hand warmers!

I have always had a problem with my temperature, I get hot far too quickly, except for my hands, fingers and toes. My mum suffers with Raynaud’s, a problem with blood circulation, and I think I have it too as my fingers not only get cold but change colour (generally white or purple), so I try to keep my hands as warm as possible. During this cold snap I have put rechargeable hand warmers into my coat pockets and what a difference it has made.

I have a pair of magnetic USB rechargeable hand warmers from Altronia. Both are compact and lightweight, measuring 9.2cm(H) x 5.1cm(W) x 1.8cm(D) each. They can be used individually, one in each pocket or glove, or magnetically combined into one unit. With 3 different, selectable warmth levels that reach temperatures of 132.8°F (56°C) and can stay hot for up to 7 hours of use.

In the box:

  • 2x 3000mAh Rechargeable Hand Warmers
  • USB Double Charging Cable (with 2 USB-C connectors)
  • Manual

The hand warmers each have a 3000mAh rechargeable lithium battery and can be used independently or together. Both have a USB-C port so can be charged independently (charging takes about 3-4 hours). They are ideal for the cold weather that we are experiencing at the moment, outdoor activities like watching your favourite football team on a cold Saturday afternoon, waiting for the bus, fishing, hiking, camping, travel, dog walks and any other activity where your hands will get cold (mine are at their worst when sitting down and not moving about doing something).

Featuring 3 different heat levels:

  • Low Heat (Level 1): 111.2-114.8°F (44-46°C)
  • Medium Heat (Level 2): 120.2-123.8°F (49-51°C)
  • High Heat (Level 3): 129.2-132.8°F (54-56°C)
Hand Warmers

These hand warmers are excellent for, well, keeping your hands warm – they do exactly as they say they do! And they are so easy to use. As they come in a pair, they can be used as larger unit or two individual units. I use them as individual units, one in each pocket for each hand. They provide quick gentle heat, keeping both my hands warm and toasty.

The hand warmers are very easy to use, just push the button on each one for 2 seconds and they will power on. When on, a red LED light will be displayed – one light is power level 1, two lights is power level 2 and, yes you’ve guessed it, three lights is power level 3. To change power levels, you just press the power button to cycle through. If you double press the power button, the red light changes to a white light and this is the power remaining (1 light is 35%, 2 lights is 70% and 3 lights is 100%). For me, I prefer to use them on the highest heat, which is quite hot but isn’t uncomfortable heat.

The hand warmers have optimised and improved circuitry to ensure a long lifespan and has over-discharge, overcharge, overheating, and short circuit protection.

Overall, I love using these hand warmers and they do a fantastic job of keeping my hands nice and warm out in the cold. I love that I can have one in each pocket of my coat or even slip them into my gloves.

They are easy to charge and simple to use. On level one low heat you can get 7 hours of heat out of them. I use them on the highest heat and think I obtained around 2 hours + of heat. Light to hold, easily fit in the palm of my hand and are comfortable to hold with their ergonomic design.

They are excellent for keeping hands warm, especially in cold weather, and would be perfect for people suffering with Raynaud’s or arthritis.

If you suffer with Raynaud’s, arthritis or just hate having cold hands, I can highly recommend these rechargeable hard warmers.
