We all have important documents such as birth certificates, passports, insurance details, bank details etc. and then there are the precious photos and other mementos. Little bits of paper and flash drives that are worth a whole lot more than the paper they are printed on or the memory chip they are saved on. If these documents were to get lost or damaged, it can cause a whole host of problems, so it is prudent to protect them as best that you can. And that means more than just popping them in a locked drawer. What if there was a fire? Well, to better protect those important documents, store them in a Fireproof Document Bag from OFFCUP before putting them in a safe place; a locked drawer, lock box or safe. The OFFCUP Fireproof Document Bag does not only protect against fire but is also waterproof, so it protects against fire and water damage. A solid investment for anyone looking to safeguard their important documents.
One of the standout features of the OFFCUP bag is its construction. The outer layer is made of high-quality silicone fiberglass cloth (which has a strange soft feel), while the inner layer boasts aluminium foil fiberglass cloth, capable of withstanding temperatures up to 1000°C (about 1832°F). This level of protection is very reassuring.
Moreover, the bags are not just fireproof but also waterproof, thanks to the exterior silicone coating. This dual protection is particularly beneficial in scenarios where fire hoses or sprinklers might be involved in extinguishing a fire, as it ensures that surviving the flames doesn’t mean succumbing to water damage.
The bag features a waterproof zipper to keep the contents safe with a fireproof flap that covers the zipper which securely holds in place with a strong hook and loop strap (magic straps, or what I would call Velcro).
The fireproof document bags are supplied in a two pack. There are two different options that you can buy;
- Mini Pack: the mini pack contains two 8×4.6in bags which are perfect for a passport, ID photos, cash, coins, keys, photos and USB flash drives.
- Large / Small Pack: The small bag measures 9x7in and is great for passports, ID photos, cash, coins, keys, photos and USB flash drives. The large bag measures 15x11in and can store Legal/A4 letter size paper format documents, tablet computer, certificates, etc.
These fire document bags are more than just a storage solution; they are a peace-of-mind provider for those who understand the importance of protecting their documents from unforeseen disasters. Whether for home, office, or travel use, these bags offer a blend of security and convenience that makes them a smart choice for document safety.
Overall, the OFFCUP Fireproof Document Bags are excellent quality bags to provide secure protection of important documents, flash drives and cash. The mini bags are perfect storage important documents such as passports and ID against heat, fire and water. As they come in a two pack you can store the originals in one for home storage in a drawer or safe and the other can be used to store copies of these important documents for portable transportation in an emergency bag (go bag).
No fireproof bag is going to fully protect itself and their contents from the full force of a fire. Typical house fires burn at around 1500°F and fireproof bags can usually withstand fire and heat at these temperatures for around 30 minutes, which should hopefully be enough time for the fire to be put out.
These bags are not expensive and are a very small price to pay for peace of mind and short term fire resistant protection of such important documents that can be a massive time-consuming headache to replace.
For basic fire protection, these bags with their double layer protection are a good and worthwhile investment. They only thing I couldn’t find with these bags was a UL rating to show just how long the contents will be guaranteed to be protected for.
