Overall, I found the Gear Aid Heroclip Mini to be an excellent little accessory. It is compact, easy to store and surprisingly strong. Whether it is used for hanging camping items such as camping lanterns, wet towels or a water bottle from your backpack, I think that it is excellent.
The clip features pivoting joints which makes it easy to use at awkward angles as well as in tight spaces. This flexibility makes it far more useful than a standard carabiner clip, especially when you’re trying to hang items from uneven surfaces like tent poles, hammock frames or even campsite shelving. With its wider clip gate (compared to other carabiner clips) and its rubber grip on the tip of the hook it further enhances usability, ensuring items stay put even when the wind picks up or the clip is jostled.
As for build quality, I think it is excellent. It is made from solid machine‑cut aluminium with an anodised finish (and available in a variety of different colour options), paired with composite steel components for added strength.
