I don’t know about you but I never seem to have enough power sockets or a power socket close to where I need it. So extension leads help to bridge that gap and are a must have accessory for most homes and offices. But for me I want more than just an extension lead or power strip, I want 3 pin sockets, USB charging sockets, individual switches to turn on and off each socket independently and surge protection to help protect my devices. That’s not too much to ask, is it? No, it’s not, and I found one that is perfect for my needs, the Innoteck DS-2138 Extension Lead, it’s a beacon of power and convenience.
The Innoteck DS-2138 Extension Lead features four individually switched surge protected 3-pin sockets, dual USB Ports 3.0A (1A+2A) which can also be switched on/off, and a 2 metre cable. It has a maximum capacity of 4000w, features safety shutters in the sockets and features two wall mount through holes.
With an individual switch for each socket you can control the power flow to each device independently. This not only adds a layer of convenience but also enhances safety by reducing the risk of overloading the circuit and can help you save money by not having devices left on standby. Each socket has a neon indicator, providing a clear visual cue to which sockets are active, ensuring you’re never left guessing.
Then there are the 2 USB ports, which can also be switched on/off to control power to things like phone and tablet chargers etc. The dual USB ports have a combined output of 3A (1A+2A), making it a versatile hub for charging a variety of devices.
The surge protection feature is a critical aspect that cannot be overlooked. It safeguards your precious devices from unexpected power surges, cutting power in the event of a power surge and giving you peace of mind during electrical fluctuations.
The inclusion of wall-mount screw holes is a thoughtful touch, addressing the common frustration of mounting extension leads securely. This design allows for a firm, permanent fixture to a wall or desk, eliminating the wobble and insecurity of keyhole mountings or trailing across the floor.
Overall, the Innoteck DS-2138 is a lightweight, robust and reliable extension lead that promises to deliver convenience and safety to your power management needs. With four 3-pin sockets and 2 USB ports it has plenty of outlets for all your charging and power needs and only takes up one wall socket space. And unlike some other leads that I have used in the past, there is plenty on space between each socket so that you can comfortably push plugs in or remove them and they are not jammed up tight against each other.
I love that each socket can be individually controlled so that I can turn on or off specific devices when required. This not only makes managing power for different devices easy but helps to improve safety – less heat is generated, reducing fire risks and having devices constantly receiving power can damage their batteries and shorten their lifespan. And by being able to switch off devices when not in use can help shave a few pounds per year off you electricity bill, rather than leaving everything on trickle charge or standby. And I like the idea of also being able to turn off the power to the USB ports (you can’t turn off each individual port, only both together).
This is an excellent extension lead that can handle a large power load safely and has surge protection features to cut the power in case of a power surge, keeping devices protected. It is lightweight and can easily be mounted to a wall, skirting board or desk.
