Fitness Stepper

In today’s fast-paced world, finding time to visit the gym can be a challenge, and with rising costs it is an expense many of us could do without. But that doesn’t mean that we have to forego exercise – exercise gets us healthier, helps control or lose weight (when combined with a healthy diet) and is good for the mind as well as the body. That’s where exercising at home comes in handy. It offers convenience, flexibility, and the ability to work out in a comfortable environment. You don’t need to buy expensive gym equipment and one piece of equipment that has gained popularity for its effectiveness and ease of use is the fitness stepper. A fitness stepper is compact, versatile, easy to store and easy to use. It can help provide a good cardiovascular workout, help strengthen muscles while enhancing overall fitness.

The fitness stepper is a compact and lightweight piece of equipment that simulates the motion of climbing stairs (or you could just use your stairs). It provides a low-impact workout that targets the lower body, including the calves, thighs, and glutes – I use one for an issue I have with both ankles and weakened calf muscles. Some models even come with resistance bands to engage the upper body, making it a full-body workout.

There are lots of different types of steppers but I have been using a basic one, a reinforced plastic step with adjustable step level heights, it is inexpensive and is perfect for beginners to start on their fitness and/or weight loss journey and is great for using as part of a fitness routine.

Key Features:

  • Compact Design: The Gallant Aerobic Fitness Stepper is designed to fit in small spaces, making it ideal for home use. Its compact size allows for easy storage when not in use while also being extremely portable.
  • Adjustable Height: The stepper features adjustable height levels (10cm, 15cm, and 20cm), allowing users to customise their workout intensity. This makes it suitable for beginners and advanced users alike.
  • Non-Slip Surface: The stepper is equipped with a textured, non-slip surface to ensure safety and stability during workouts. This design helps prevent slippage and provides a secure footing, even during intense exercise sessions.

As I mentioned earlier, I use the stepper for exercises to strength my ankles and calf muscles. The exercises are ones recommended by a physical therapist. The compact design allows me to easily store it in a cupboard when not in use and makes it easily portable so that I can use it in any room – part of the exercises I have been told to do involve having my hands on the wall, so I need it to be portable.

The step has adjustable heights of 10cm (default size) and comes with height adjusters that you can place the step on to bring it up to 15cm and 20cm, depending on your needs. You can also purchase additional height risers if needed.

Fitness Stepper

Overall, the Gallant Aerobic Fitness Stepper is a quality step – it feels tough and durable and has a maximum weight limit of 150kg (23 stone / 330 pounds). It’s a good size with the length of the step being 78cm and the step width being 29cm, giving plenty of room to use it easily and safely. Its adjustable height levels, non-slip surface, and compact design makes it a valuable addition to any home gym or home fitness routine.

The stepper is versatile and can be used for a variety of purposes including muscle strengthening exercises, as I use it, to aerobic exercises.

Weighing about 4kg with the extra steps, it isn’t too heavy but is very sturdy and it is easy to move around and use wherever you want.

I weigh around 13 stone / 83kg and it supports my weight very well without feeling like it’s going to crack or break, although I am just standing on it and doing my prescribed exercises, I am not jumping about or doing high-energy aerobic exercises.

Whether you are using for general fitness, to help with weight loss or using for medical reasons I think the Gallant fitness step is a great piece of equipment to help – although if using for medical reasons like me I would recommend getting advice from your doctor first.

Easy to use, easy to adjust the height, and very easy to store when finished.
