With it that time of year to start on your Spring Cleaning and wanting to give the house a good deep clean to get rid of any hidden winter dirt and debris, having the right tools and cleaning products is essential. As I have already said, handheld steam cleaners have a variety of cleaning uses on various surfaces and fabrics. They utilise water heated to a level that results in pressurised steam and require no chemicals for quick and thorough cleaning. The steam produced dislodges stubborn dirt and grease, whilst sanitising as well. The steam’s extreme heat will kill 99.99% of bacteria, germs, mold, dust mites, and more using just plain water.

The Tower RHS10 Handheld Steam Cleaner comes with 9 accessories, as mentioned above, to keep your rooms and furniture clean, fresh and germ-free and is great for getting wrinkles out of clothes and curtains. It has a lightweight design and comes with a very generous 3 metre cord to get around the room easily.
To use, you just fill with 250ml water (using the measuring cup supplied – it is only a 175ml cup so requires one fill of 175ml and another of 75ml but both measurements are clearly marked on the cup), switch it on and wait just 3-5 minutes for it to heat up. Once heated, it provides 10 minutes of continuous steam cleaning for a really deep clean at temperatures of up to 105 degrees. With such a high temperature, the pressurised steam effortlessly removes dirt whilst killing bacteria and germs on contact. Because the high pressure and heated steam can be dangerous in the wrong hands, you must keep you thumb on the button to release the steam.
I have so far used it in the kitchen on the cooker hob and in the bathroom between the bathroom tiles and have been very impressed. The steam is very powerful and you can see the dirt being washed away, especially on the grout between the tiles.
With a weight of just under 2kg (1.97kg) it isn’t too heavy to use, although the constant pushing of the button can start to ache but there is only enough water in the steam cleaner for 10 minutes constant use so the constant button pressing isn’t really a problem and I like that the steam instantly cuts out when the button is released, a great safety feature.
Overall, the Tower RHS10 Handheld Steam Cleaner is fantastic for getting everything hygienically clean and getting rid of dirt and stains on a wide variety of surfaces. It is a must for everybody’s household cleaning arsenal.
The attachments are extremely easy to change, they just push on / pull off and are perfect for getting into the smallest of areas such as between tiles and around the taps as well as larger areas of the cooker, windows, or even for getting the wrinkles out of clothes. The 3 metre cord is a good length to get around most rooms, the only time I needed an extension lead was for the bathroom as the nearest socket was in the hallway.
It is much easier, quicker and more effective to use than a scrubbing brush and elbow grease, removing the toughest of grime. The high heat and powerful steam jet is also excellent at killing germs, killing up to 99.99% of bacteria. Although once it has run out of water you will have to wait for it to cool down before you can remove the cap to refill it and wait for it to reheat. Although for most cleaning jobs, 10 minutes is enough unless you are tackling the bathroom taps and tiles for example.
With so many surfaces it can be used on it is perfect for your spring cleaning needs and an superb addition to your cleaning cupboard. No harsh chemicals are required, just water and the power of steam.
