Gaming is big business, more and more of us enjoy playing games on our computers and games consoles. And in a digitally connected world, our world might be getting smaller but our gaming options are expanding and we can play games with our friends and family in the same room or remotely play with or against other players from anywhere in the world. These days, gaming can be a more sociable experience – you can play games with friends around the globe and even make new friends. But to fully enjoy the gaming experience we need to be able to communicate easily with other players. FIFINE are probably best known for microphones, but they also do gaming headphones and even speakers. I have been using the Ampligame H6 Gaming USB Headset with Virtual 7.1 Surround Sound and RGB Lighting.
FIFINE’s Ampligame H6 Gaming Headset is a lightweight, budget-friendly (under £50) wired headset for Windows PCs / Laptops, MAC and PS4 / PS5, unfortunately it cannot be used on Xbox. I have already mentioned that the headset is very lightweight, weighing approx. 330g. Despite the lightness of it, it is not flimsy and seems very well constructed. It is a wired headset and has a generous 6.6ft (2 metres) cable length with an inline control unit. The headset has an adjustable headband and very soft padded ear cups. It is extremely comfortable to wear.
The headset features RGB lighting effects on each ear cup which will appeal to gamers. The lighting effects constantly move in a loop, giving the headset some personality with rainbow colour effects, although there seems to be no way to turn off the lighting effects. The lights are good, not too bright or distracting, a nice novelty that makes the headset more interesting.
When playing games, games on consoles in particular, you are not generally playing for 5 or 10 minutes, you are playing for an extended period of time. When playing for any length of time, if you are playing wearing a headset you want something comfortable and the FIFINE Ampligame H6 Gaming USB Headset delivers that. Because of their lightweight, when wearing them you don’t really notice them on your head and the padded ear cups are soft enough that they are not compressing your ears or head, and they don’t overheat the ears.
Whilst this headset is light and comfortable to wear, it also looks great with the lighting effects and is extremely easy to control the functions. But the most important thing with any headset is the audio quality – and the sound is excellent, so much better than you would expect from a sub £50 gaming headset. The sound is crisp and clear from the 50mm drivers that are quite close to the ears. With the 7.1 surround sound function enabled, the sounds are remarkable – especially when playing games, you can hear the smallest of details like footsteps creeping up behind you.
This headset is not just for listening, it is also for communicating with other players. It features a detachable microphone, and it is excellent. Easy to remove or attach when needed, it is flexible and can easily be adjusted to the best position and it picks up sounds with clarity. It can simply be muted when you don’t want to use it (with a push of a switch on the inline control unit), displaying a red LED on the microphone so that it to shows when it is muted.
The Ampligame H6 Gaming Headset is a wired pair of headphones and the inline control unit is attached to the wire. You can select from 3 different EQ modes, quickly and easily selecting the best sound mode for the ultimate listening experience. I love that the inline control unit is a good size and not fiddly to operate, it is easy to see and use and you can control all the headset functions fast and one handed without having to stop what you are doing; muting/unmuting microphone, volume levels, EQ modes and enabling/disabling 7.1 Surround Sound function.
Overall, the FIFINE Ampligame H6 Gaming USB Headset is great for gamers who are looking for a quality headset, but who are on a budget. It features balanced and rich sound, with cool lighting effects and all day wearing comfort.
A great budget-friendly gaming USB headset that delivers on comfort, ease of use and audio quality. The 7.1 Surround Sound function is excellent, and the choice of EQ modes definitely improves the listening / gaming experience. The only thing missing is a protective carry bag so that you can always have them with you.
