It feels very good quality and seems to stay stuck fast to the door, even when the oven has been on at high temperatures for a while. Whilst it stops the oven door from being accidentally opened, it also has its own security features to enable it to open with two buttons to push in and then twist to open – making it very difficult for toddlers to accidentally disengage it whilst easy for adults to operate one-handed. It has a pull force of 15kg/33lbs so needs a lot of strong effort to pull open when engaged.
It is an excellent safety device and when used alongside talking to children about dangers in the kitchen and hot ovens, it will hopefully prevent any accidents and injuries.
