When it comes to essential kitchen gadgets, we all need a tin/can opener. And I’ve had plenty! Why have I have so many? Well, when it comes to tin openers I have a habit of breaking them after a few weeks of use. It’s not even if I’ve gone out and purchased the cheapest I can find (although I tried that as well to see if I was better that way), I just seem to break them. At least, that was the case until someone recommended the OXO Good Grips Soft-Handled Can Opener and I haven’t looked back since (or managed to break it).
The OXO Good Grips Soft-Handled Can Opener measures 18x5cm, featuring large chunky cushioned handles, which makes it very easily to hold and comfortable as well. And as they name suggests, they have a very good grip with the soft handles. The oversized knob is also very easy to grip making it very easy to turn. The sharp cutting wheel is made of sturdy stainless steel which does a superb job of effortless opening tins and cans. It’s very easy on your hands, providing a comfortable grip that reduces the strain on your fingers and wrists. It even has a built-in bottle opener. And despite me using it a lot, I haven’t managed to break it and it is still opening cans just as easily as when I first used it.
Overall, this is a superb can opener. The chunky handle and oversized knob make it very easy to use. Despite being on the more expensive side of can openers with a RRP of £17.50, it is actually saving me money as I’m not buying a new one every few weeks (I honestly don’t know what I do with them – at one point I thought I was probably using them wrong, but how can you use a can opener incorrectly?). But apart from saving me money, the quality of the OXO can opener is superb – stainless steel with cushioned grips that are oversized for better and easier grip. It is a reliable, comfortable, and durable kitchen gadget, with solid quality, that is worth every penny it costs.
There really isn’t too much to say about a can opener, but the OXO Good Grips Soft-Handled Can Opener attaches easily to the cans, the soft cushioned non-slip handles make it very easy and comfortable to hold, gripping the can securely, and the oversized knob is so easy and effortlessly to twist for the cutting wheel to open the can with the precise skill of a highly qualified surgeon.
I love this can opener. It puts all others to shame. Every kitchen has a can opener, and the OXO Good Grips Soft-Handled Can Opener is their leader. It makes opening cans fast and easy and the large handle and oversized knob make it perfect for everybody to use.
And yes, like some of you reading this, I would also have said a can opener is just the same as any other, until I tried this one and was very impressed in the difference in quality and ease of use – this is one can opener that is definitely not just the same as any other.
