Work Light

When it comes to DIY, hobbies and work projects, having the correct tools is essential for being able to do a good job. But the best tools in the world won’t do you any good if you can’t see want you are doing. Having to use a torch (or in my case more often than not, the light on my phone) isn’t great – yes they provide better lighting in some cases but it also means you have to hold it or find somewhere safe to prop it up. So finding a better way of lighting those hard to see places is a must and I think that I have found the perfect work light: the compact and lightweight Coquimbo Work Light, a beacon of reliability and versatility. It’s a must-have tool for everyone from hobbyists and DIY enthusiasts to professional mechanics and technicians.

The Coquimbo Work Light comes in a pack of two or four lights (in black, green or red). For me, two was perfect; one for home and one for work (others will want to keep one in the car as well). The size (14.7cm when closed) and weight is very deceiving. They may appear small, but they pack a punch with their bright illumination and five light modes. The ease of use is another feature that cannot be overstated. With a simple charging USB-C mechanism and an intuitive design, it’s ready to go whenever you are. The magnetic base is a game-changer, allowing you to attach the light to any metal surface for hands-free use, making it a versatile companion for any task.

And then there is the light’s 360° rotation capability that ensures that no nook or cranny remains in the shadows. Whether you’re under the hood of a car or in the depths of a cluttered cupboard, the Coquimbo Work Light offers five lighting modes to cater to every scenario. From a focused beam to a wide spread of light, this work light adapts to your needs seamlessly.

The Coquimbo Work Light is a lightweight, sturdy and portable rechargeable light. It is wrapped in a carbon black, anti-sweat and anti-slip housing and its foldable design make the work lamp easy to carry and store. It features five lighting choices (LED bulbs, 800 lumen): Super bright and 360 degree rotating-angle inspection lamp, medium light, front focused light, red light and red flashing light. And it even features a magnetic base so that you can attach it to metal surfaces so that you can free your hands (it is also free-standing and features a hanging hook).

The work light is equipped with a built-in 3.7v lithium rechargeable battery which takes between 2-3 hours to fully charge, giving you up to 3 hours usage in full light mode (more in medium or front light modes).

Overall, this is a great little inspection torch. It is lightweight, nice and comfortable to hold and the light is very bright, giving quite a wide view. The red lighting modes are perfect for emergency situations to act as warning lights. And it is very easy to charge (USB-C port behind a rubber cover) and a has good usage time.

It is perfect for freeing up your hands and providing much needed, focused light to help you complete a variety of tasks easier.

The work light feels very robust and durable, but my only slight niggle is the magnetic base could do with being a little bit stronger – while it sticks on to magnetic surfaces with ease (and is easy to remove), a good knock or vibration can also dislodge it.

And I love the 360° rotating head so that you can focus the light into exactly the position that you need, whether in a free-standing position, attached to any metal surface or hanging from a nail or a hook.

It is also extremely user-friendly with one button to control power on/off and switching lighting modes; press once to power on (full light), press once again to switch to medium light and once again for the front focused light and finally once again to power off. If you want the red light lights, press and hold the button for 3 seconds for full red light and then you can press once for red flashing light and once again to power off.

The Coquimbo Work Light is not just a tool; it’s an investment in efficiency and convenience for any task that requires a little extra light.

Rating: 4.5/5 (only because I would have preferred a stronger magnet on the base)
