When it comes to input devices for your computers, specifically the keyboard and mouse, a lot of them can look very boring in beige or black. So adding a bit a colour can liven up the desktop space. The Canyon Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Set HSET-W5 does just that, as well as adding quality functionality to your daily computer use.

The Canyon Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Set HSET-W5 comes in a variety of colours and each one is accented with vivid colours. I received the white keyboard and mouse with red and light bluey grey accents – and I love them, they really do stand out!

So lets start with the keyboard. A full-sized keyboard with 105 keys including a numeric keypad, it has a slim ergonomic design and the stand-out vibrant buttons. It is wireless so no cables getting in the way and only requires 1xAAA battery (which is supplied). It also has rubberised feet to stop slippage (can be tilted), laser engraving on the key caps and 13 multimedia keys.

The mouse is the same matching colours – with a white body, red buttons and bluey grey accents. It features 6 buttons and a scroll wheel. The two main buttons on top of the mouse are silent when clicked, the other buttons are not so silent. It requires 1xAA battery (which is supplied).

As for connectivity, both the mouse and keyboard operate wirelessly on 2.4Ghz. This requires a small USB receiver to be plugged into the computer or laptop, and happily it only requires one for both devices rather than one each. The receiver when not in use can be tucked out of the way and stored securely under the battery panel on the base of the mouse.

Canyon Keyboard and Mouse

Overall, I love the look and feel of the Canyon Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Set HSET-W5. They really stand out on the desk, livening up what can be a very boring space.

The mouse operates smoothly, fast and has adjustable setting including an adjustable DPI (800/1200/1600). It is lightweight at 59g, but feels solid and sturdy. It has a soft-touch coating and feels comfortable when using it. While it says it is a silent mouse, only the two main buttons (left and right clicks on top) are silent while the other buttons do make a noticeable audible click when used. And I do like that the mouse has an on/off switch on the base to save battery when not in use. It has also been tested up to 3 million clicks, so should last a long time.

The keyboard looks fantastic. When using it, the keys feel good and responsive with only a soft touch required. The key presses do make a noise but not very loud. It is very responsive to use. My only niggle is that I wish the keys were just a little bit larger. The keyboard is also very durable, being tested up to 10 million keystrokes – it should take me a while to hit that mark.

The quality of both devices is excellent. They look great and work superbly. And they certainly liven up any desk space.
