Our homes are our sanctuaries and are individual to us all. Whilst we all have televisions and sofas, tables and chairs, we all like to add our own individuality to our rooms and spaces. That might be in the form of wall prints or bright colours, decorative ornaments or unique artwork. I have just added a rather quirky and funky steampunk-inspired Water Pipe Desk Lamp to my home office desk and it looks so much better than I could have imagined.
The Kaj Hejmo Water Pipe Desk Lamp is a quirky desk lamp little that will bring a unique style to any room. It is definitely a statement piece that you will either love or hate, a “Marmite” piece – and I love it!
The Kaj Hejmo Water Pipe Desk Lamp comes in an array of industrial looking robot variants in a bronze or rust style. I love them all but wanted a sitting version in bronze-style (of which there are 2 – style B and style C). I was torn between the two sitting styles and decided to go with Style B. Stupidly, I was trying to do several things at once and accidently ordered Style C, and after receiving it I am very glad that I did.
The lamps are metal and look like they are made out of plumbing pipes and have a Steampunk rustic finish. The have a great vintage look. They are not supplied with a bulb, so you do have to order an Edison E27 screw-in bulb (max 60w).

Overall, I love this sitting robot desk lamp and am very glad I ordered the wrong style (although I might just order that as well as I just love the design of these lamps). This sitting design looks superb on my desk and adds a bit of personality to the room, something that is a bit unique and quirky. It has a great look, with great attention to detail. It is a piece of art that just happens to function as a desk lamp and it definitely adds a fantastic talking point to the room.
But uniqueness and quirkiness does come at a cost. With an retail price of around £69.99 (currently about £55 on Amazon), it is isn’t a cheap lamp, nor is it too expensive but you do get a lot for your money. It is well crafted with great detail, it is a very good size at 25cm (H) x 23cm (D) x 28cm (W) and it is quite heavy at approx. 2kg.
I love the quirkiness of this unique steampunk-inspired desk lamp, others might not, but it is something that adds a unique eccentric flair and a bit of style to my desk and the room.
If you are looking for something to give a room a unique, quirky look and some personality then I can highly recommend this water pipe desk lamp. Its retro robot design is high quality and simply stunning, it surpassed my expectations. An unusual and functional table lamp for quirky home decoration.
